Private Tuition
We currently have a full schedule of Private Grinds being given to a number of students (specifically those preparing for the Leaving Certificate) and adults who require it for business purposes.
Lessons are tailored to the requirements of the student. Our aim is to the improve the student’s ability to understand French and Spanish as spoken by native speakers, to increase their listening ability, vocabulary and improve their pronunciation. We believe this increases the confidence of the student in talking the language, which is of great benefit when it comes to their Oral exams at Leaving Certificate level. They also learn to speak and write about themselves, their interests which also adds to their repertoire of subjects to talk about when it comes to the oral exam and the written Leaving Certificate examination.
Private Grinds are primarily with one person with the obvious benefits of increased attention by tutor, but we will create small private grind groups with maximum of three students if required. The cost of private grinds will be between €25.00-€35.00 per hour.
Leisha O'Sullivan: "I took grinds for only six weeks before my oral exam and the difference in my ability to speak French was very clear. Not only did I have more vocabulary, I felt confident that I could tackle almost any question that was thrown at me.
I also went to a French boot camp that Marina was part of organising and this helped me greatly. We were given examples of questions that could be asked in the written exam, all questions that should be known in the oral exam, and were told of the most common mistakes that are made by students.
I did grinds from the mocks up until the Leaving Cert and I could not be happier that I did. We did many mock tests so that when the real thing came around I felt confident in my ability to write."
